    Been a while hasn't it?

Does anyone I know still read xanga entries?  I haven't posted in a long time.  Nothing extraordinarily new or different has happened to me recently, and even so, most of the things I like to post are anecdotal, and anecdotes are forgotten quickly if they aren't written down.  Here's a mix cd I put together for Martin Luther King Day.

Hope you enjoy it.  Maybe I'll post a few things in the near future.

I have a new apartment.  In the bathroom, over the toilet paper dispenser, someone has put a "United We Stand" bumper sticker.  I can't help thinking it's some grand misogynist statement, ie: "You're not a real patriot unless you can pee standing up."  In other somewhat suggestive news - while packing, I found my copy of Portnoy's Complaint had been partially devoured by a  rodent of some kind.

One of the guys on the cover of this album is Jack White.  Can you tell which one?  I can't.

It ain't my birthday, but I got my name on that cake

Today I somehow cut my finger while leaving the grocery store.  I contemplated letting it bleed until it scabbed over, but then I remembered there was a first aid kit in the grandpamobile I am now driving.  It was rusted shut, and it took me a good while to pry the thing open.  The contents?  Burn emollient, calamine, and mentholatum.  And three very old, fat band-aids with the wrappers falling off of them.  Now I'm no longer bleeding, but I'm worried that band-aid might have infected me with something.

A lot of people I know have found hope in Barack Obama.  I haven't.  I like what he says; he seems like a nice guy, but nothing in his record has indicated to me that he is anything other than an ordinary, everyday politician who's an exceptional public speaker.  So where do I find hope?  Pizza Hut now has a desktop widget.  You no longer have to call them.  Or even visit their website.  Just click a button on your desktop.  And they'll deliver you a pizza.   I also find hope in Jesus.  Just so you know.
